Bryleigh McCarty – Buttercups Class Assistant Teacher

Bryleigh has had many different experiences in her childhood and young-adulthood with education, but she has always found herself teaching in some way. She has also always found herself nurturing little ones often, from helping care for her five siblings to babysitting for many years.

Bryleigh went to a public school in Texas from pre-K to 5th grade, and in moving to Colorado the spring of 2011, started homeschooling and unschooling along with her siblings. She graduated high school in 2018 and worked and taught at the Longmont Yarn Shoppe from 2015-2020. She started subbing at BWK in 2019 after falling in love with the Waldorf style of education. Bryleigh firmly believes she learns best by jumping into new experiences feet first and learning by experiencing, and she is interested in pursuing Waldorf teacher training.

In her free time, Bryleigh loves to knit, crochet, spin, weave, embroider, sew, read, listen to music and podcasts, do yoga, hula hoop, practice photography and is dipping her toes into learning emotional sciences and different languages, such as Italian, French, Dutch, Spanish and American Sign Language! She never has enough hours in the day to do all of these things, but she’s got a good rotation.

She is so very excited to spend this school year with the Buttercups!
