Laura Powderly – Lavenders Class Lead Teacher

From Fort Worth, Texas, Laura has lived in Colorado for the past 26 years. When her children were young, she went looking for a school that felt like the best fit for them, and happily discovered Waldorf education. She loved its rich curriculum and pedagogy and became very involved in their schooling through volunteering, before deciding to become an educator herself.

After attending many conferences and trainings, she began her career in Waldorf schools at the Mountain Phoenix Community School in Wheat Ridge. For three years, she worked there full time as the Assistant Teacher for their  Kindergarten class. Laura joined BWK in the fall of 2022, as Assistant Teacher in the Lavenders Class. In  Fall 2023, she stepped into the role of Lead Teacher for the Lavenders. Laura is currently enrolled at Gradalis Waldorf Teacher Training.

Laura has two children, ages 16 and 20, and has been married to her husband for 20 years. They live in Golden, where she enjoys making all kinds of art.
