Linda Abelkis – School Director

Born and raised just outside of Nashville, Tennessee, Linda lived in Chicago for ten years before moving to Colorado in 1999. This daughter of two teachers (her father was also a middle school principal) earned a BS in Mathematics from Vanderbilt University and worked as a Health Actuary for almost two decades before switching careers to school administration.

After several years leading Shepherd Valley Waldorf School (now Boulder Valley Waldorf School), in 2014 she joined BWK. Linda and her husband Kai raised three children (one still in college, two living in the EU), all of whom are Waldorf graduates. Off campus, Linda enjoys going to bluegrass concerts, watching women’s basketball, and going on hikes throughout the Colorado mountains.
