Mikayla Zerr-Lockwood – Cherry Blossoms/Lavenders Afternoon Rest Program Teacher

Originally from Bennett, Colorado, Mikayla joined the Boulder Waldorf Kindergarten community in Fall 2025. She brings with her a deep passion for early childhood education and a lifelong dedication to becoming a teacher.

She holds an associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Front Range Community College and is in her second year of Waldorf Gradalis teacher training program. Teaching has long been her dream, inspired by the laughter, joy, and wonder she experienced during her own childhood learning.

Outside the classroom, Mikayla is also a talented illustrator. She enjoys drawing and has shown work in several gallery shows. She even illustrated a children’s book!

She is grateful for the love and support of her family, including her parents, brother, grandma, partner, and beloved pet bunny, all of whom have helped her on the path to Waldorf education.
