Tess Hamilton – Violets Class Lead Teacher
Tess joined the BWK community in January 2021 as an afternoon teacher in the Lavenders Classroom after moving to the area from New Hampshire.
Tess graduated from Bowdoin College in 2016 with a major in Visual Arts and Earth and Oceanographic Science. After graduation, Tess received a Watson Fellowship for a fully funded year of solo travel. During this year Tess lived in 13 different countries around the world exploring the social ecology of home across cultures and continents. Returning to Maine Tess spent several years building wooden boats with premier boat builder Dick Pulsifer and then worked as the assistant director of Bowdoin College’s outdoors programming for two years before moving out to Colorado.
Tess is a passionate artist, nordic skier, and mountain runner. She enjoys growing and sharing nourishing food, handmade creations, sketches, and music.
Tess is currently enrolled in her Masters in Education and Waldorf teacher training at Antioch College and is planning to complete the program in the Summer of 2023. Tess completed Sunbridge College’s Waldorf Early Childhood Educator week-long intensive in the summer of 2021.
